What I Wore - Sky Blue

Can I just say that moving is not fun?  We are planning a (local) move for this weekend and man, it really has thrown off my schedule!  I have some fun posts coming up but just be patient with me.....

Anyway, I thought I'd throw in a fun skirt here in the mix.  And yes, I'll be the first to say that I NEED A TAN!!!!  Yes, I live in SoCal.  No, I don't fake n' bake.  Sometimes I do fake tanner lotion stuff when I get desperate.  A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.  Clearly I did NONE of that before these were taken by my girl JEN.  Just sayin!

Ok now that we've taken care of the elephant in the room, we'll get back to the outfit.  Nothing crazy but I thought it was cute and springish.  I think I got both top and skirt at Marshalls.  Shoes I got for a bridesmaid outfit and wear them with soooooo many different outfits!  Love the wedge.

 Don't ask me what I'm doing with my left hand claw in the picture above.  Not quite sure about that one. Ha!

What I Wore - Red-Orange

Is it just me or are the weeks just flying by???

Anywho, I got this beautiful blouse from Macy's for my Bday last year.  My sweet MIL took me on a little shopping spree and she ended up finding all kinds of treasures there for me!  Yay!  I love this top because its so classic and beautifully made.
Got my chevron inspired necklace that I got once again from my vintage jewelry find.  The jeans are from an awesome second-hand store called the Buffalo Exchange.  If there is one near you, GO!  They have killer prices on great brands.  Got these Union jeans for $20.  Twenty dollars people!!!! They never even looked like they were worn!
I love my shoes too.  They are SUPER comfy.  Like, for real.  Maybe one of the most comfy that I have.  I even thought the same when I wore them while I was a blimp  pregnant!
 My snazzy girl Jen took these for me.  Isn't she good?

Ms. S {Santa Clarita Valencia Glamour Photographer 91355}

As soon as Ms. S walked into my studio, I knew my hair/make-up artist and I were in for a treat.  Although she didn't have a drop of make-up on, I knew that we could transform her into the glamorous woman that was in there somewhere!  Don't you think she is a Selma Hayek look-alike?  I think she's more beautiful than Selma, actually.
 Before we started our shoot she mentioned that she has never gotten a professional portrait taken of herself before, other than back in grade school.  This woman should have been on magazine covers, right????  I'm just happy I got to be the first one to give her the experience of a lifetime!
Want to see more?  Take a look at her Before & After shot HERE.

What can be better than beautiful photos?  Video!  Watch her experience here:

What I Wore - Antique White

This blouse is about 60 years old.  Definitely vintage.  I got it from the costume shop that's in the same building as my studio.  It was on clearance for $5!  I loved the poof-y shoulders and little detail along the edges of the sleeves and collar.

Yay for spring!  Even though we don't have much of a winter here in SoCal ;)

Props to my budding photographer friend Jen!  She took these while holding her darling little baby in one hand, camera in the other.  Multi-task much?  I think she did a great job : )  I'm pretty sure all mommas have that gift!

Ninja Turtles Birthday Bash! {Santa Clarita Valencia 91355 Portrait Photographer}

My delightful friend Jen throws the best birthday parties for her kiddos (you can look at the last one she had for her darling daughter here).  Her son, Joe, just turned 6 and they had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed party.  So fun!
Clearly, he is adorable.  He had so much fun with all of his little friends!

I was happy to cover the party for Jen as I have in the past but this time around I wanted to try something different.  I wanted to put something together for her and Joe that was more that just pictures.  Soooooo this is what I came up with:

Ninja Turtle Birthday Bash from Lora Knight Photo on Vimeo.

I was really happy with how it turned out and can't wait to make more!  I think it's a great way to re-live and remember a special event - whether it's a party, family reunion or a moment with your family (think family photos taken to the next level!!!) bridal or baby shower, birth or the first hours with your new little one...the possibilities are endless!  What would you want a video of?

I get so excited thinking about it and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!  Want to know more about the party?  Read about all of the details on how Joe's talented Momma put it together and see LOTS more pics here.

What I Wore - Olive Green

I chose this outfit today based on one thing.  The necklace!  I got it - and my bracelet - from the same lady who sells jewelry that I mentioned here.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed to have it!
I loved all of the detail and little trinkets that were on it.  Totally different than anything I already have.  It just seemed to work perfectly with this military inspired shirt that I already had. My dark brown boots didn't fail and so, an outfit was born!

 When I first bought those boots I got them thinking I would wear them folded down (just below the knee) most of the time.  But after putting them on for the first time and wearing them thigh-high, I couldn't go back!  Let me just say thigh-high boots are super slimming and make a girl feel good!  How can you go wrong with that???

Hugs to Jen for taking my pics for me!!!

Valentine's Day Special - Part 2: The Beauties {Santa Clarita Valencia 91355 Portrait Photographer}

If you haven't seen what I did with the cute kids that came in for my Valentine's Day special, you can read about it here.  These beautiful ladies came in for the same deal, but I thought they needed their own post!
Aren't they lovely?  They were my breath of fresh air in between all of the kiddos! Don't get me wrong, I looooove the kids but every once in a while, an easy adult just makes me a happy girl.

I've got lots of great posts coming up!  Can't wait to show what I've been up to lately......

Happy Monday : )

Valentine's Day Special - Part 1: The Kiddos {Santa Clarita Valencia 91355 Portrait Photographer}

I can't believe February is over.  Is it just me or does time fly by faster and faster the older we get?  Sheesh!

I had such a great little turn out in the studio for the special I ran for Valentine's Day... I just have to share a little snippet of what we did!
My sweet friend Jen helped me make this darling banner!  Her kids modeled it for me perfectly : )  Aren't they precious?
